Are you a Culture Vulture? Why not migrate to Hull, the UK’s City of Culture, 2017!

Last year Hull was named the UK’s City of Culture for 2017, so we thought we’d take a look at why they claimed the title and why we think you should move to this Yorkshire City.

Located in the East Riding of Yorkshire, Hull benefits from great transport links including a direct train route to London, a direct link to M62/M18/M1, the international ‘Humberside Airport’ just half an hour away and not to mention daily ferry services to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Bruges, Ostend and onto the rest of Europe.

Hull is also the home to Premier league football team Hull City A.F.C and two rugby super league teams Hull KR and Hull FC. There is also a range of first class sporting facilities across the city including a number of leisure centres, golf courses, basketball courts, bowling and cricket greens to name but a few.

However, if sport isn’t your thing, the city boasts its own Museum Quarter with a range of free museums open all year round. Looking around the city you will notice unique white phone boxes which symbolise the city’s independence and proud municipal history.

Also on offer is Hull’s top tourist attraction: ‘The Deep Aquarium’ which is billed as ‘The worlds’ only submarium’. And with seaside towns Cleethorpes and Bridlington also just under an hour’s drive away and Europe’s largest travelling funfair taking up residency every October – there’s something to keep the whole family occupied all year long!

You can keep up to date with Hull’s City of Culture via their official Twitter Page (www.twitter.com/2017Hull) and on Facebook at (www.facebook.com/HullCityofCulture)

Right Move recently ranked Hull as 7th ‘Happiest place to live in the UK’ which comes as no surprise. If you’d like to find your perfect home in Hull, whether it be for a growing family, a first time buyer, a low or high end budget then we can help.
